I’ve been thinking about starting a blog for a while, but resisted–fear, commitment and confidence concerns, material, the medium…lots of reasons, but the opportunity to publish ideas without permission is so democratic and it seems such a waste not to do the end around, as it were, past the corporate media. Not that I’m so certain my deep thoughts will produce ground-breaking articles that alter the political and social landscape, but for me this seems to be the season to dig in and get on with it. Now is my time to move outside of my comfort zone and stay there. Life keeps on and on and I’ve done a lot of lying fallow before (sticking with the gardening metaphor a little longer), but it’s time to wander out there, and to see if I can somehow translate myself into the community.

Kerry,
Good on ya, girl! I always love the music you play (even if it´s accidently blaring from your outdoor loudspeakers at midnight)! Nice going on the multiple ani d.f. hits in one sitting too. Love what your wrote here about the comfort zone, democracy, community, etc. We´ll have to have a brasilian tunes day when I sadly return from this lovely country (in 3 weeks). Keep on breaking out on the homefront!
